So grateful for this beautiful Freer Form today, Shira. Thank you, especially for the introduction to the incredible Etel Adnan. “The world needs togetherness, not separation. Love, not suspicion. A common future, not isolation.” I've been musing on this the past few days and she puts it so beautifully, as did you via your reflections. Again, thank you.
Thanks for introducing me to the Jean Valentine poem! I read it as [please] let me in, which I’m sure has a lot to do with what I am seeking, sometimes with what feels like desperation.
"can an insurmountable mountain in the distance be rendered as intimate, as mine?"
Reminds me of a Georgia O'Keeffe quote: “It’s my private mountain. It belongs to me.
God told me if I painted it enough, I could have it.” (speaking of the Cerro Pedernal mountain)
Even as a huge O'Keeffe fan, I've never heard this before. Now I'm cartwheeling through the heavens. Thank you, Katia!
!!! amazing. so parallel in concept/feeling/essence of the idea, what magic!
I wept several times while reading your words and thoughts. You articulate so well our communal grief. May you be blessed..

I love the gentleness of your implicit "please"––that too says something (lovely) about you.
